Dr. Ji joined the faculty of Keck School of Medicine of USC in 2000. His research interests include cellular organelle (e.g. ER, Golgi, mitochondria, or lysosomes) stress and liver disease, hepatotoxicity of alcohol and anti-HIV/COVID-19 drugs, hyperhomocysteinemia, and nanotechnology in drug/alcohol detoxification. Dr. Ji's research has been supported by NIH/NSF. He has published over 100 papers in journals (e.g. Nature Nanotech., Gastroenterology, Advanced Materials, PNAS, J. Hepatology, and Hepatology) and numerous abstracts/book chapters in meetings/symposia.
Prior to USC faculty, Dr. Ji earned his PhD in Biochemistry and completed postdoctoral fellowships at Univ. of California and Keck School of Medicine of USC. He got his M.S. in Chemistry at Shanghai Jiao Tong Univ.
