    Dr. Philippe Friedlich is a Professor of Clinical Pediatrics and Surgery at the University of Southern California and Interim Director & Division Chief for the Center for Fetal and Neonatal Medicine.

    A fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Friedlich holds memberships with the Society of Pediatric Research and the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Perinatal Pediatrics. Dr. Friedlich is a member of the California Children’s Medical Services /California Children’s Services NICU Technical Advisory Committee.

    Dr. Friedlich earned his medical degree from the University of Southern California and completed his pediatric residency and internship at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. He completed a fellowship in neonatal and perinatal medicine at the University of Southern California Women’s and Children’s Hospital before joining the faculty of the USC division of Neonatal Medicine in 1998. Dr. Friedlich completed in 2004 a Master of Science in Applied Biostatics and Epidemiology from the University of Southern California and earned a MBA in Medical Management from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 2006.

    His areas of research interests include the epidemiology of congenital malformations and neonatal healthcare delivery and outcomes. Dr. Friedlich has published over 150 abstracts, peer review articles, book chapters and support strong research collaborations between surgical, medical and healthcare related disciplines in areas of clinical, translational and basic science.
