Fangqi’s current research focuses on environmental determinants of cardiovascular diseases and the individual-level behavioral and physiological processes that partially explain these environmental-health links. Her Ph.D. research focused on the promotion of early detection of congenital heart disease among infants in underdeveloped areas. More recent analyses investigate childhood psychosocial stress and its long-term effects on cardiovascular health in adulthood. Her research takes a lifespan approach, comparing environmental-health links across life stages.
