Vasilis Z. Marmarelis received his diploma in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 1972 and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Engineering Science (Bio-Information Systems) from the California Institute of Technology in 1973 and 1976, respectively. He was Simon Ramo Lecturer and Research Fellow at the California Institute of Technology from 1976 to 1978. In September 1978, he joined the faculty of the Biomedical and Electrical Engineering Departments at USC, where he is currently Professor and Co-Director of the Biomedical Simulations Resource (BMSR), a research center dedicated to modeling and simulation of physiological systems that has been funded by the NIH through multi-million dollar grants since 1985. Dr. Marmarelis served as Chairman of the Biomedical Engineering Department from 1990 to 1996 and he is a Fellow of the IEEE and the AIMBE.

Altmetrics Details PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
