    Dr. Kung graduated from the Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelors of Arts in Biology in 1989 and attended The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, graduating in 1993. She completed her pediatric internship and residency and pediatric cardiology fellowship at the University of California at San Francisco from 1993-1999. Dr. Kung was then an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston from 1999-2003 and joined the faculty at USC/Children's Hospital Los Angeles in 2003. She has been board certified in pediatric cardiology since 2000.
    She has been Fellowship Program Director since 2014 and has been on the CHLA Promotions Committee since 2019 as well as CAPC at KSOM. She has also taken a lead in the CHLA junior faculty mentoring program.

    She served on the KSOM Faculty Council from 2019-2024, serving as president and then past president during her last term.
    She also co-leads the Leadership Working group for Gender Equity in Medicine and Science (GEMS).

    Clinical Interests
    Clinical care and evaluation of children with congenital heart disease in the outpatient, inpatient and peri-operative setting; non-invasive imaging including transthoracic and transesophageal imaging.

    Dr. Kung had actively participated in the National Pediatric Cardioloy QI Collaborative to improve outcomes for single ventricle patients with HLHS.
