Jonathan Nelson is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Nephrology & Hypertension at the USC Keck School of Medicine. A native of the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Nelson attended the University of Washington for his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry before pursuing a PhD in Molecular and Medical Genetics at Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. Nelson trained in multiple clinical departments at Oregon Health & Science University including Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, the Knight Cardiovascular Institute, and the Division of Nephrology & Hypertension. His research focuses on the intersection of vascular biology and medicine with an emphasis on understanding the role of the renin angiotensin system in regulating the kidney microvasculature. His research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, American Heart Association, and Collins Medical Trust.

Altmetrics Details PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
