    Dr. Katz holds the title of Professor of Surgery, Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy, Keck School of Medicine of USC. He is the Director of the Non-Invasive Vascular Laboratory at Huntington Memorial Hospital and serves as their Program Director of the General Surgery Residency Program. Dr. Katz educational record includes a Phi Beta Kappa honor. He earned his MD from the University of California, Irvine, in 1975 and was president of his chapter of the Alpha Omega Alpha Society. He completed an internship and residency in Medicine at Harbor General Hospital in Los Angeles, California in 1978 and completed an internship and residency in Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts in 1979. He also completed a vascular surgery fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, Texas, in 1984. Prior to joining the USC faculty full time in 1999, he has been a voluntary attending physician at LAC+USC Medical Center since 1984.

    Dr. Katz is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Surgery with added qualifications in Vascular Surgery. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the Society for Vascular Surgery, and a member of the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society, Southern California Vascular Society, Western Surgical Association, Western Vascular Society, Pacific Coast Surgical Association, and is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. He is a past president of the Southern California Vascular Surgical Society. Dr. Katz has authored over fifty peer reviewed publications and has been recognized as one of the Best Doctors in America from 2009-2012.
