Overview
Dr. Rodrigo Antonio Brant Fernandes has more than 20 years of extensive clinical enterprise and surgical experience in managing retina, glaucoma, and cataract surgical cases in Brazil. He has world-class experience in stem cell research and pre-clinical retinal research such as the application of stem cells for inherited retinal degenerations, as well as stem cell implantation techniques for retinal diseases.
Since 2004, he has been an outstanding attending physician at the Federal University of Sao Paulo. He has extensive experience in private practice serving as the Managing Partner, Academic Director of the Fellowship Program, and Director of three (3) surgical divisions: Cataract, Glaucoma, and Vitreoretinal Surgical Division at the Ophthal Hospital in Sao Paulo. This hospital is one of the largest groups specializing in eye care in Brazil with 7 units nationwide and approximately 15,000 consultations, 8,000 exams, and more than 600 surgeries carried out per month.
