Meggan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who brings extensive experience in community mental health, correctional health, outreach, and mobile engagement. Her work in the community of Skid Row emphasized person-centered recovery for transitional age youth (TAY), adults, and older adults dealing with serious mental illness and substance use disorders. Additionally, she played a key role in compliance with the Department of Justice (DOJ) Consent Decree for LA County Jails, focusing on provisions related to Self-Directed Violence. Meggan is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Social Work (DSW) at Tulane University. Her research interests include harm reduction, stigma, chronic homelessness, serious mental illness, substance use disorders, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and psychedelic-assisted treatment.
