He is a leading expert in the management of hypogonadism, penile ultrasound and microsurgical treatment of chronic testicular pain. He offers minimally invasive therapy for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and erectile nerve-sparing robotic surgery for prostate cancer.

Dr. Asanad strives to provide men with the best quality of life following prostate surgery, in the same way he strives to provide men the best chance to build a family with their loved ones. He works closely with Keck Medicine’s reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialists at HRC Fertility, an affiliate of Keck Medicine, to provide optimal treatment plans for male subfertility. He is a specialist in advanced sperm-retrieval procedures, including microsurgical testicular sperm extraction (micro-TESE). Dr. Asanad also supports cancer survivors at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center with his extensive experience in prosthetic surgery for restoration of male sexual function and urinary control. He is passionate about optimizing fertility preservation for young men undergoing cancer-related therapy at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

His research interests include the development of novel biomarkers to predict reproductive outcomes in men with severe male-factor infertility as well as integration of artificial intelligence in men’s health. He has co-authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications as well as book chapters on topics such as “Medications with Male Reproductive Side Effects.” He has been invited to lecture on male infertility and men’s urological health concerns and has made a number of media and press appearances in his field of expertise.

Dr. Asanad was recognized for his dedication to patients with the USC Choi Family Awards for Excellence in Patient-Centered Care and has also received the Outstanding Minimally Invasive Surgery Resident Award from the Society of Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgeons, among others. He is a member of the American Urological Association, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction and the Sexual Medicine Society of North America.
