    As a clinical psychologist and researcher, Dr. Conn's program of research has focused on taking a socio-ecological and developmental approach to understanding the emergence of health risk behaviors among historically marginalized and minoritized adolescents and young adults, and potential intervenable and protective factors that can be incorporated into early intervention and treatment.

    Major areas of research includes:
    1. Cannabis, alcohol, and prescription drug misuse and co-use among adolescents and young adults
    2. Risk and protective factors associated with mental health outcomes among sexual-minority and gender-minority adolescents and young adults
    3. Taking structural and systemic approaches to understanding factors contributing to health disparities
    5. Tailored clinical intervention development for adolescents and young adults
