Dr. Mariam Davtyan obtained her PhD in Public Health from the University of California, Irvine in 2018. Her research focuses on the effects of in utero exposure to HIV and antiretroviral medications among children and young adults, HIV-associated stigma and discrimination in healthcare settings, the impact of internalized HIV stigma on clinical and social outcomes, and resilience factors in women of color living with HIV in the era of COVID-19. She has published a number of peer-reviewed manuscripts on her research interests, and her work has been exhibited at various national and international conferences, including the American Public Health Association Annual Meeting & Expo, the United States Conference on HIV/AIDS, and the International Conference on Stigma. Dr. Davtyan is also the founder and liaison of the MCA Center’s English-speaking Community Advisory Board (CAB), consisting of patients living with HIV. The CAB provides critical feedback and expert advice on clinical services and research protocols to ensure that they align with the needs of the HIV community that the MCA Center serves.
