Alan Hsieh Lee, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine at Keck Medicine of USC. He is passionate about helping patients recover from injuries and return to the physical activities they enjoy. He also serves as a team physician for USC Athletics.
As a surgeon, Dr. Lee endeavors to keep patients out of the operating room whenever possible. He maximizes nonoperative modalities such as biologics and other novel therapeutics first before utilizing surgical options.
Dr. Lee emphasizes a comprehensive approach to health. Rather than focusing only on fixing the immediate problem, he works with patients to understand what caused the injury and develops rehabilitation strategies to help prevent a recurrence.
Dr. Lee believes in shared decision-making with his patients and empowers them to take an active role in their care. He works to foster a collaborative, team-based environment where patients can feel comfortable speaking up. Dr. Lee has been included on “Top Doctor” lists in Los Angeles Magazine and Pasadena Magazine multiple times.
Dr. Lee received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Michigan. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Harvard Medical School and his sports medicine fellowship at Stanford University.
