    Jeffry Huffman, M.D. is an Illinois native, originally from Dixon. He completed his undergraduate studies at Indiana University and received his Medical Degree at Loyola University-Stritch School of Medicine. He completed his training in general surgery then urology at the University of Chicago. He then trained as a urological oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He is a member of the American Urology Association and a Diplomat of the American Board of Urology. He formally held academic appointments at UCSD School of Medicine in San Diego, CA as well as chief of urology at the San Diego VA Medical Center in La Jolla, CA. Dr. Huffman was originally recruited to USC in 1987 where he worked as professor of urology until 2007. During his tenure he also served as founding President, CEO USC Care Medical Group and Senior Associate Dean for Clinical affairs of the Keck School of Medicine.

    Dr. Huffman left USC in 2007 to serve in the US Air Force. He volunteered and served two tours at the Air Force Theatre Hospital in Balad, Iraq as a trauma surgeon and urologist. He was awarded two Meritorious Service Medals along with an Operation Iraqi Freedom Campaign Medal and Air Force Expeditionary Medal with Gold Border in 2007 and again in 2009. Dr. Huffman remains in the US Air Force reserves as Colonel, chief of staff, of the 349th Medical Squadron at Travis Air Force Base.

    Dr. Huffman specializes in the treatment of kidney stones, cancers of the prostate, bladder and kidney, urinary infections, incontinence and infertility. He has specific expertise in minimally invasive surgery for the bladder, prostate and kidney, including endoscopic surgery, laparoscopy and da VinciĀ© robotic surgery, as well as training in pediatric urology.

    Dr. Huffman is married to his wife Therese and has three grown children and two grandchildren. This year, he returns to USC to direct the Institute of Urology faculty practice site in Bakersfield, California and the central valley.
